There are many ways to help
You don't need a lot of time or money to make a difference. A donation, an hour of your time or a walk on the beach can make the day a little brighter for our animals.
Donate what we need
Little things can make a big difference
With so many animals in our care, we need all kinds of supplies every day. Some are very simple, others more specific. If you're on Holbox and would like to help, we're always grateful for in-kind donations.
Cleaning & hygiene
Cleaning products, bleach, cloths, brooms, mops, buckets and other supplies that help us keep the refuge clean.
Food
Dog, cat and puppy food (wet and dry), special diets and veterinary food.
For our animals
Collars, leashes, beds, blankets, used bedding, carriers, crates, toys and other accessories.
Medical supplies
Gauze, gloves, bandages and other veterinary supplies. For medication and special requirements, please ask our team.
Are you on Holbox?
Many of these items can be bought directly on the island and dropped off at the refuge. If you're not sure what we need most right now, just ask us. We'll be happy to tell you.
Give your time
One hour can make a difference
You don't need experience or have to stay for weeks to help us. If you have an hour to spare during your holiday, come by the refuge and become part of our everyday life.
There's always something to do: refill water bowls, clean and organize, help with feeding, bathe or brush the dogs, play with the cats—or simply sit down for a while and give our animals some love and attention.
No registration is needed. Just come by during our volunteer hours and ask where you can help.
Morning: approx. 7:30 am – 1:00 pm
Afternoon: approx. 3:00 pm – 7:30 pm
Want to stay a little longer?
We'd love that too. You can join us for several days or even dedicate part of your holiday to helping the animals. Please note that we cannot provide accommodation, so you'll need to arrange your own place to stay.
One walk. So much happiness.
Take one of our dogs to the beach
Around 50 dogs live together at our refuge on Holbox. They have space to move, play and spend time together—but getting outside the refuge is something truly special.
A walk means new smells, exercise, individual attention and a little break from everyday shelter life. And if it leads to the beach, even better.
Come by, meet your walking buddy and explore Holbox together. Walk along the beach, discover the island or simply sit together and watch the sunset.
No registration is needed and it's completely free.
Morning: approx. 7:30 am – 11:00 am*
Afternoon: approx. 3:00 pm – 7:30 pm / until sunset*
